QUICK GUIDE - SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
Each birth pool is thoroughly inspected and inflated upon return to ensure it’s in good condition. However, we strongly recommend that you test the pool and equipment within 24 hours of receiving it to confirm everything is functioning properly.
For full step-by-step setup instructions, please refer to the booklet included with the pool liner.
1. Choose your location
-
Find a flat, spacious area to place the pool near a water source. Two or more of the sides should be accessible.
-
Place the pool on a blanket, rug, or yoga mat on the floor, away from sharp surfaces, to protect both the floor and pool. It also helps to keep the water warmer for longer. A tarp can also be used.
2. Unfold the pool.
3. Inflate the pool
-
Use the air pump to inflate the pool, starting with the floor, then bottom ring, to about 70-80% capacity.
-
Make sure each ring is firm but do not overinflate.
-
For the floor, push the lid and valve down so they are level with the floor to avoid damaging the liner.
-
Check that the floor and sides are evenly inflated, valves are closed properly, and the pool is stable.
4. Fit the liner
-
Fit liner with holes fitting over handles and valve.
-
Please ensure to use the liner.
5. Connect the hose
-
Attach the drinking water hose to your tap using a tap adapter.
6. Fill the pool
-
Run the water until it’s warm before filling the pool. Water temperature should be 37.0 degrees or as advised by your midwife.
-
Place hose through “Insert hose here” slot
-
Do not begin filling with hot water only as this may damage the pool.
-
Once the water covers the bottom of the pool, remove any air pockets in the liner.
-
Fill the pool to top of middle chamber.
-
Top the water up as needed to maintain warmth.
QUICK GUIDE - PACK DOWN INSTRUCTIONS
1. Empty the pool
-
Scoop any debris out of the pool.
-
Use the submersible water pump and hose to remove the water to a drainage point. Once complete, wash with warm soapy water and leave to airdry.
-
DO NOT USE DRINKING WATER HOSE TO SIPHON WATER OUT OF THE POOL.
-
Avoid spilling water on the floor when removing the pump.
2. Remove liner – carefully remove and dispose of the liner.
3. Wipe pool – please wipe the pool with warm soapy water or antibacterial wipes.
4. Dry
-
Airdry or towel dry all surfaces.
-
Ensure the pool is completely dry before storage to prevent mold.
5. Release air
-
Open the air valves and allow the air to escape.
6. Fold gently
-
Once fully deflated, close the floor and seat valves. Fold the pool length ways, in half twice, avoiding sharp creases.
-
Fold or roll pool towards white valves.
-
Ensure the valve lids are closed.
-
Compress pool to expel remaining air, secure with straps and place into the carry bag.
7. Store safely
-
Store the pool in a cool, dry place away from sharp objects and sunlight.
-
Use the checklist to ensure all items are together.
